Aecom Wins Middle East Contract

Los Angeles Business Journal Staff

Aecom Technology Corp. on Wednesday said it won a contract to supervise construction and provide other services for a sustainable project in Abu Dhabi.

The Los Angeles company did not disclose terms of the contract, which includes project, design and construction management as well as construction supervision for a $22 billion, 1,729-acre development planned to be carbon-neutral and have zero waste.

The development in Masdar City will include residential, hospitality, commercial and retail developments as well as parks and playgrounds.

"We take pride in the fact that sustainability is at the heart of every project, so we are delighted to be part of this project," Chief Executive John Dionisio said in a statement.

Aecom earlier this week won a $10.5 million contract to provide energy-efficiency services at a U.S. Navy facility in San Diego.

Aecom shares were down 12 cents, or less than 1 percent, to $27.92 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
