KIIS-FM (102.7) on Wednesday reclaimed its crown as L.A.’s top-rated radio station, while former No. 1 station KFI-AM (640) took a tumble.

KIIS, a Top 40 music station, had a 5.2 percent listener share as it took the No. 1 spot for the month of October, according to data released Wednesday by Arbitron Inc. News talk station KFI, which had beaten KIIS for the No. 1 rating in August and September, fell to No. 3 with a 4.3 percent listener share.

Classic hits station KRTH-FM (101.1) jumped a spot from its September rating to take second place with 4.7 percent listener share. Adult contemporary KOST-FM (103.5) remained in fourth place with 4.1 percent of L.A. listeners.

Adult hits KCBS-FM (93.1) and Top 40 station KAMP-FM (97.1) tied for fifth place with 3.7 percent listener share each.

KFWB-AM (980), which flipped formats in September from news to news talk, continued to struggle in the ratings with a 0.7 percent listener share, in a three-way tie for 38th place. KFWB had a 0.8 percent listener share in September when it was in a four-way tie for 34th place.
