Santa Fe Springs Development

Construction crews broke ground in Santa Fe Springs in October on one of the largest industrial projects ever undertaken in the Los Angeles area.

Crews started work on a 265-acre industrial park, located on the site of the former Golden West oil refinery. The $200 million project, spearheaded by a division of Thrifty Oil/Golden West Refining, will eventually contain as much as 5 million square feet of buildings when the entire project is built over a 10-year period.

The Santa Fe Springs industrial market, which has become a leading warehouse and distribution center, will rumble even more in 1998. Wohl Development has a 250-acre site under contract and is expected to announce plans soon for its Heritage Springs industrial project.
