Los Angeles gas prices continued to slide downward for the eighth consecutive week. The average retail price for self-service regular was $2.437 for the week ended Nov. 28, down 4.6 cents from $2.483 the previous week.

That left L.A. prices just 19 cents higher than they were a year ago, according to the Energy Information Administration.

Statewide, the average price dropped 4.1 cents to $2.142, down from $2.453 the previous week. However, California still had the highest-priced gas in the nation for the eighth consecutive week.

Among major cities, Los Angeles had the second-highest gas prices, after Miami at $2.445. Ohio was the state with the lowest average gas price, at $1.99.
