Hollywood’s digerati are ready for their close up at least if the latest Digital Hollywood conference is any measure.

The event, which kicks off Monday, Oct. 23, brings together leaders in digital production and distribution, in the realms of film, TV, video and music.

And what began 20 years ago as a small gathering of forward thinking techies is today a reflection of just how much the world of bits and bytes has transformed Hollywood.

“It has evolved into the mainstream of entertainment, impacting cable, broadband, mobile phones, mobile TV and video, digital production and On-Demand,” said Digital Hollywood president Victor Harwood.

The conference will include presentations from a variety of companies, including AOL, Break.com, Buzznet, Global Media & Communications, blip.tv, CNET Networks, ABC News Digital Media Group, AT & T; Operations, Music Choice, ComVentures, Qpass, Sanyo, Sony, HBO, Motorola, Fox Interactive Media, Yahoo, Turner Broadcasting Systems, Nokia Americas and Disney Mobile.

Among the topics to be explored: the revolution underway at Youtube.com and other user-content sites; the “citizen media” of the blog world; social networking; advertising on blogs and other new media; and mobile commerce.

The conference is held at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel and will run through Thurs., Oct. 26.
