Mattel Recalls Yellow Bunnies

Mattel Inc. is recalling 1.2 million of its Fisher Price brand toy bunnies, whose noses may break off and pose a choking hazard.

Mattel sold more than 500,000 of the bunnies at U.S. department stores between May and December of last year, as well as an additional 700,000 outside of the U.S. The bunnies are yellow.

The El Segundo-based toymaker announced the recall in a report it filed with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Only toys with the pink pom-pom noses are affected by the recall, the company said in the report. The models with flat or embroidered noses are not part of the recall. Mattel added that no injuries have been reported.

Shares in Mattel were down 8 cents to $26.55 in afternoon trading Thursday.
