Warner Music Group Corp. will partner with rival Sony BMG Music Entertainment and billionaire Len Blavatnik to form a wholesale distribution vehicle for digital music in Russia.

Blavatnik’s investment company said in a statement Thursday that the venture, named Digital Access, will offer “full-track audio downloads, ring tones, ring-back tones, video clips and full color images” in Russia.

The venture will be funded by the two music giants and Blavatnik’s holding company, Access Industries Holdings LLC, and will be based in Moscow. No financial details were disclosed.

The statement said that Digital Access will target content providers, mobile operators and online stores in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States. It is due to begin sales of tracks, ring tones and video clips this fall. Other partners in Digital Access include Russian labels Soyuz and Nikitin Records.

Shares in Warner Music Group were down 10 cents to $14.56 in afternoon trading on the New York Stock Exchange Thursday.
