Shares in Sport Chalet Inc. dropped more than 6 percent Thursday after the company announced that it expects second-quarter same-store sales to decline between 2 percent and 3 percent.

For the quarter that will end Sept. 30, the La Canada-based sporting goods retailer said it expects per-share results to range from break-even to a profit of 2 cents on sales of between $97 million and $98 million.

Shares in Sport Chalet were down 6.1 percent, or 56 cents, to $8.65 in afternoon trading Thursday on the Nasdaq.
