International Rectifier Names CEO

International Rectifier Corp. said Thursday that it has elected Oleg Khaykin as president and chief executive effective March 1.

Khaykin will succeed Donald Dancer, who has served as acting chief executive since Aug. 30. Dancer was named acting CEO after Alex Lidow, the company’s long-time CEO and son of founder Eric Lidow, resigned for unspecified reasons marking the third departure of a member of the executive suite last year.

The company is currently in the middle of an investigation into accounting irregularities, which has prevented the Camarillo-based maker of high-efficiency computer chips from posting any quarterly earnings statements for 2007.

Khaykin, 43, had served as the chief operating officer of Amkor Technology Inc., a semiconductor company in Chandler, Ariz.

Shares of International Rectifier were up 12 cents to $26.41 in early trading Thursday.
