Los Angeles Times Media Group has inked an advertising deal with Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings Inc., the San Antonio-based outdoor billboard owner said Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Times, owned by Chicago-based media conglomerate Tribune Co., will use the outdoor ad company’s electronic billboard network to display exclusive news content from its print and online editions as well as excerpts from the paper’s special features, Clear Channel said.

The paper is planning on using Clear Channel’s Web-based interface in a 10-week campaign that will allow news items to be displayed in real time on area billboards directly from the paper’s newsroom.

Clear Channel Outdoor owns and operates 30 digital billboards in the L.A. area with the capability of reaching more than 455,000 people a day.
