Daily Briefs: Ixia Names CEO

Calabasas-based Ixia, a provider of IP performance test systems, said it has appointed Atul Bhatnagar as the company’s chief executive. Atul is a former executive of Nortel and Hewlett Packard executive with over 20 years of experience in the industry. Atul succeeds former CEO Errol Ginsberg, the founder of the company and current chairman, who will continue with Ixia as the chief innovation officer.

Reed’s Inc. said Thursday that it has expanded its distribution network to include all of Southern California with the addition of three distributor partnerships. The Los Angeles-based maker of natural non-alcoholic beverages, candies, and ice cream said in a release that it inked distribution deals with Prestige Sales LLC, Classic Distributing & Beverage Co. and Allied Beverages Inc. Reed’s distribution network will now stretch as far north as Santa Barbara County; as far east as Riverside and San Bernardino Counties and as far south as San Diego County. Shares in Reed’s were flat at $3.65 in early trading Thursday on the Nasdaq.

Farmer Bros. Co. said Thursday that it has named Drew Webb to the positions of executive vice president and chief operating officer effective March 3. Webb, 60, has more than 30 years of experience as a consultant and executive at various companies. Shares in the Torrance-based coffee company were down 2 percent to $21.58 in early trading Thursday on the Nasdaq.
