Dodgers Hit The Road

L.A.’s new taco trucks don’t necessarily sell tacos but all kinds of non-Mexican fare. Last week, the Los Angeles Dodgers rolled out a taco truck that doesn’t even sell food.

The Dodgers Ticket Truck, customized by the West Coast Customs body shop of Corona, is a mobile box office that sells tickets to baseball games.

A Dodgers spokeswoman said the truck is a good marketing tool that may result in increased ticket sales because of impulse purchases. The advantage to customers: There’s no fee from ticket handlers. Also, the truck may offer unique deals or last-minute specials. Dedicated fans can follow the vehicle on social media site Twitter to find out where it’s headed.

The truck only sells tickets for now, but in the future it could be equipped to sell merchandise, she said. Could Dodger Dogs be far behind?
