Shamrock Capital Advisors has invested $25 million in Thought Equity Motion, a Denver based digital video manager.

Thought Equity’s software and server farms enable content owners to store, retrieve and edit video footage, as well as provide it to third parties. Its clients include Sony Pictures Entertainment, Paramount Pictures and the NCAA.

Shamrock, a Westwood private equity firm co-founded by the late Roy Disney, said it has been looking at a number of startups in the field of digital media content.

“Thought Equity Motion’s team, technology, and market traction position the company to capitalize on this tremendous market opportunity in digital-asset management,” said Shamrock partner Robert Perille in a statement.

Thought Equity plans to use the money to improve its technology and ability to serve global customers and expand its cloud storage capabilities.
