Aecom Technology Corp., which acquired Tishman Construction Corp. last year, has created a construction service business line for North America and the Middle East with Tishman President John T. Livingston serving as chief executive.

The Los Angeles technical and management support service provider said Friday that the new unit was part of the ongoing integration of the two companies.

Tishman, a noted New York construction management firm that Aecom bought for $245 million in July, came with an established business in the United Arab Emirates as well as North America. It built the original World Trade Center in New York City and the recently completed MGM Mirage CityCenter in Las Vegas.

The new line “is an important part of Aecom’s strategy to meet our clients’ project needs, from conception through planning, architecture, engineering, and construction, and ultimately delivery and commissioning,” the chief executive officer, John M. Dionisio said in a statement.

Aecom shares were down 8 cents, or less than a percent, to $29.85 in midday trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
