Everbridge Makes Cloud Technology AcquisitionMonday, September 12, 2011
Everbridge Inc. which operates an emergency notification service for governments and businesses, has acquired cloud-computing technology company CloudFloor.
The Glendale company said that CloudFloor, based in Waltham, Mass., will enhance its own products, which enable organizations to make mass notifications via text messages, phone, email and other means. Financial terms were not disclosed.
CloudFloor has developed software for managing and optimizing a business’ cloud operations over the Internet, which Everbridge said allows for expanding operations with the same level of security and reliability as hardware but at a lower cost.
As part of the acquisition, CloudFloor Chief Executive Jaime Ellertson has been named chief executive of the combined organization, succeeding Everbridge founder Cinta Putra. Ellertson is an entrepreneur who sold Internet technology company Gomez Inc. to Compuware Corp. in 2009.
“I am very excited about the new opportunities that the acquisition of CloudFloor's talented team and their innovative technology creates," Putra said in a statement. "This addition will further cement our leadership role in the industry.”
