Americans plan to hit the road this Labor Day weekend despite rising gasoline prices.

AAA estimates that 33 million people will travel 50 miles or more, the highest level of travel for Labor Day since the start of the recession in late 2007. The Associated Press reports that AAA officials consider it an encouraging sign that Americans continue to prioritize travel despite an absence of strong economic growth.
