Stuck on Your Swing?

Can golfers cure the deficiencies in their swings with help from stickers? Bilmba Marketing & Associates in Sherman Oaks thinks so.

Called 1 Swing Thoughts, the stickers are applied on the top of golf club heads. So when golfers look down, they see words or images designed to help them focus.

A package of three stickers sells for $9.99 on Amazon, Ebay and the 1SwingThought.com site.

The inventor of the stickers, Bryon Smith, owner of advertising and sales training firm Bilmba Marketing, acknowledged it’s a high price given that the cost of materials is only a few cents. But he said it’s a bargain compared with other methods golfers use to improve.

“Lessons can run $50 an hour or more,” he said. “A bucket of balls costs about the same price (as the stickers), and you can hit tons of balls and not improve your game.”

Smith created the first versions of the stickers on his computer by printing words on sticky paper and applying them to his clubs. He noticed his scores improved.

Because some people respond better to images instead of words, he expanded his product line to illustrations. For example, one shows railroad tracks going to the horizon to help golfers who hook or slice keep their swing straight.

The product launched Feb. 10 and so far the best seller is a sticker with the words “Swing Eaasssyy.”
