UTi to Switch CFOs

UTi Worldwide Inc. on Monday said that Chief Financial Officer Lawrence Samuels will step down next month, and the company has named a replacement.

The Long Beach freight and logistics company said Richard Rodick, who most recently was senior vice president of finance at Broadridge Financial Solutions in suburban New York, would become CFO on Oct. 1. Prior to Broadridge, Rodick held a succession of operating CFO roles. At UTi, he also will hold the title of executive vice president of finance.

Samuels, who has been with UTi since 2000, is expected to help Rodick with the transition process, the company said. The company did not say why Samuels is leaving.

Rodick’s “broad background in all facets of global finance will be a significant asset to our growing organization,” Chief Executive Eric Kirchner said in a statement.

Shares closed up 52 cents, or 4 percent, to $14.51 on the Nasdaq.
