Music Mastermind is getting help from one of the biggest names in video games for the release of its music-making title.

The Calabasas company announced Wednesday that it will publish its music creation game, “Zya,” on iPhones and iPads through a distribution deal with Chillingo, the mobile game publishing arm of Electronic Arts Inc. The app will be available this summer.

“There’s not a better publisher than Chillingo to launch with,” Matt Serletic, Music Mastermind chief executive, said in a statement. “We’ve poured our hearts into making ‘Zya’ not just a game, but a new way for people to experience the joy of making music, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

The company also announced a funding round of $11.4 million for the continued development, marketing and publishing of “Zya.” The company has raised a total of $30 million.

“Zya” uses Music Mastermind technology to help players create original music and remix popular tunes. It has the look and feel of the music video game “Guitar Hero.”

Music Mastermind was founded in 2008 by music producer Serletic and former Wall Street bond trader Bo Bazylevsky. The company released “Zya” for HP computers in 2011 and for all PCs in 2012.
