Hanmi Returns to Paying Dividends

Hanmi Financial Corp. on Tuesday said its board has declared a cash dividend on its common stock of 7 cents a share, payable on Sept. 17.

The Koreatown parent of Hanmi Bank suspended paying regular quarterly dividends during the recession as executives worked to improve the bank holding company’s financials.

“We are pleased to be able to return to paying a regular quarterly cash dividend to our stockholders, who have been very loyal over the years,” Chief Executive C. G. Kum said in a statement. “It is also a testament to the strength of the core banking activities and financial performance of Hanmi, while maintaining sufficient capital for growth.”
