Obituary: Attorney Leonard Kalcheim

Leonard Kalcheim, a longtime Los Angeles business attorney, died May 22 after along illness. He was 74.

A 1964 graduate of Columbia Law School, he served as a captain in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He then began practicing entertainment law as an attorney for ABC. Later, he worked for more than 20 years at Paramount Pictures, where he rose to senior vice president of business and legal affairs. Kalcheim then worked as legal adviser for various independent entertainment companies, including Guthy-Renker Inc., Nash Entertainment and Atlas Media Corp.

Kalcheim is survived by his wife, Mara; sons, Mitch and James; and his dog, Caesar.
