Candy stores may be pretty standard. But an updated and glamorized version is to open soon near the famed TCL Chinese Theater that will be significantly Hollywoodized – and surprisingly pricey.

Charissa Davidovici, founder of Sugar Factory, is expanding her Las Vegas-based confectionary business to Los Angeles and bringing her signature Couture Pops suckers, which are endorsed by such celebrities as Kim Kardashian as well as singers Katy Perry and Britney Spears.

The three-story venue will be located in the old Skechers space on Hollywood Boulevard near Madame Tussauds Hollywood wax museum. Two floors will be stocked with sugary treats and fashion merchandise such as T-shirts. The third will be a dedicated space for birthdays and bachelorette parties. Construction began in September and the shop is to open early next year.

“We have quite a bit of different things versus the regular confectionary store, and we have such a great celebrity following around all of our stores,” Davidovici said.

The party room, which is a first for the company, is open for anyone to book, she said. It will have its own DJ, chairs shaped like cupcakes and a patio for guests to take the party outside above Hollywood Boulevard.

The company was founded in 2009 and its flagship location inside the Paris Las Vegas hotel and casino has about $6 million in annual revenue, Davidovici said.

In addition to the Hollywood location, Sugar Factory will be opening in New York and Bahrain by the end of this year.

Couture Pops cost $25. They feature a crystallized handle that holds the lollipops. Refill packs with three lollipop heads cost $15 and come in 10 flavors.

In celebration of the Hollywood store, she created a signature all-gold Oscar Couture Pop with an Oscar jewel at the bottom of the handle.

“We get 2-year-olds to 90-year-olds,” said Davidovici.
