Jacobs Acquires Houston Engineering Firm

Pasadena’s Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. has expanded its presence in Houston and the energy market with the acquisition of oil and gas pipeline specialist Eagleton Engineering.

Jacobs on Tuesday said the deal, terms of which were not disclosed, expands its midstream and upstream pipeline engineering, design and field surveying services. Jacobs already has a significant presence in South Texas; according to the Houston Business Journal the company is that city’s eighth largest employer, with 130 workers.

“Eagleton’s pipeline engineering and project delivery experience, strong project portfolio and talented employees allow us to enhance our full-service offerings to our customers and drive our growth in the oil and gas business,” Jacobs Group Vice President Chip Mitchell said in a statement.

Shares closed up 57 cents, or 1 percent, to 59.93 on the New York Stock Exchange.
