Venice e-commerce and social media company Tapiture announced Wednesday it completed a $2.25 million seed round led by West Los Angeles capital venture firm Jump Investors.

Tapiture provides a platform for members to collect Web content and share it with other members. Members can also discover and purchase products from the site’s merchant partners.

Randall Kaplan, chief executive of Jump, joined the board of Tapiture as a result of the investment.

“Tapiture’s traffic and revenue growth proves that consumers are looking for a new avenue to discover and share unique content – whether related to personal style, art, design, travel, food or entertainment,” Kaplan said in a statement.

Other investors in the round included actress Hillary Swank and professional basketball players Dwight Howard and Amar’e Stoudemire.
