Los Angeles Times to Launch LGBT Site

The Los Angeles Times will begin hosting a site later this month dedicated to news and lifestyle issues in the local gay community.

The announcement was made in an advertising supplement distributed in the Times on Wednesday to promote this weekend’s L.A. Pride Parade.

The supplement was produced by Frontiers Media, the Miracle Mile publisher of Frontiers, a magazine that specializes in the lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender community, and Miracle Mile marketing firm Flip.

Frontiers Publisher Michael Turner said the LGBT-themed site will go live June 20 at latimes.com/lgbt-la.

Times spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan said the site is a part of the Times’ brand publishing division and would be independent of the editorial department.

Turner purchased Frontiers out of bankruptcy earlier this year for $361,000.
