Mouse Looks To Click With Video Gamers

A local company has just introduced a glow-in-the-dark computer mouse. Why? Well, for one thing, it could shed a little light in darkened dens when gamers are spending hours of quality time with “Counter-Strike” or “Call of Duty.”

Computer accessory maker Adesso of Walnut last week unveiled its iMouse G3. The mouse has a number of gamer-centric features, including a button to adjust sensitivity and lights that switch between green, blue or red. It also has a rubberized outer layer for better grip and connects to a computer with a durable cable.

The mouse is listed at $20 – cheaper than any of the six gaming mice recently reviewed by PCWorld. Those ranged from $50 to $160.

Adesso makes its products, including the new mouse, in China and distributes them from its Walnut headquarters, where about 15 people work. It’s the firm’s first foray into gaming mice; the company released a gaming keyboard with a similar design this month.

Even with its extreme design, the mouse can still navigate a spread sheet as well as a battlefield, said Win Kang, marketing manager.

“The design is very loud,” he said. “But it won’t stop anyone from using it for regular work.”
