AwesomenessTV Taps Disney Exec as CMO

AwesomenessTV, which serves teenage audiences, announced Tuesday it hired TJ Marchetti as chief marketing officer.

Marchetti was a former senior vice president of digital marketing at Walt Disney Co. He is credited with helping Disney surpass the $4 billion mark in worldwide box office last year and will be responsible for Awesomeness’s marketing and branding initiatives.

Brian Robbins, AwesomenessTV’s co-founder and chief executive said the hiring is a part of the company’s expansion efforts.

“TJ comes to AwesomenessTV with a strong track record of combining creativity and technology to build brands and audience loyalty,” Robbins said in a statement.

Awesomeness was acquired by DreamWorks Animation last May for $33 million, a figure that could rise to $117 million if certain benchmarks are met. The network reaches about 26 million subscribers.
