Ad agencies Deutsch LA, CAA Marketing and North Kingdom might go head-to-head when competing for new clients, but last week they celebrated with wins at the 50th Annual International Andy Awards in New York.

The three L.A. agencies all took home awards for their creative work in an event hosted by the Advertising Club of New York.

Pete Favat, chief creative officer of Deutsch LA, said it can be tough to catch the attention of the jurors.

“You have to make something bold to get them to pay attention,” said Favat. “Any time an L.A. agency wins a big award, it helps the whole community because we’re able to convince more talent to make the move West.”

CAA Marketing won gold in the Web film/animation category for the “Scarecrow” campaign for client Chipotle. Deutsch LA won bronze in the television/automotive category for client Volkswagen for its “Feeling Carefree” work. And North Kingdom won bronze in the mobile/creative technology category for Google and Warner Bros. on its “A Journey through Middle-Earth” campaign.
