Metacloud Raises $15 Million

Pasadena’s Metacloud, a cloud service company for businesses, has raised $15 million in Series B funding.

New investors are Pelion Venture Partners, Silicon Valley Bank and UMC Capital, according to a recent Wall Street Journal article. Previous backers of the company include Canaan Partners, Storm Ventures and Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang’s AME Ventures in the new round.

The company has reportedly raised $27 million to date, including $2 million in debt.

Metacloud was founded in 2011 by Sean Lynch, former head of technology operations at Ticketmaster Entertainment in West Hollywood, and Steve Curry, who ran global storage operations at Yahoo Inc. in Sunnyvale.
