Monday Rundown: NBCUniversal Exec to Helm Deluxe; New Executive Director for Beverly Hills Chamber

0

Deluxe Entertainment Services Inc. announced Monday that John Wallace, president of operations and technical services at NBCUniversal, will take over as chief executive in early September.

Wallace replaces Deluxe Chief Executive David Kassler, who has been with the Burbank company since November 2014. In a statement, Kassler said he is leaving Deluxe for “unrelated personal and family reasons.”

A 27-year veteran at NBCUniversal, Wallace is responsible for global security, business services and the management of NBCUniversal’s real estate portfolio. Kassler will stay on during the Wallace transition.

Deluxe, owned by New York private investment firm MacAndrews & Forbes Inc., provides production, post-production, distribution and archiving services for feature films and television. It operates multiple locations in Burbank and Valencia.

The leadership switch follows the April announcement of a joint venture between Deluxe and Paris-based Technicolor S.A. The venture brings together two legendary Hollywood companies that have moved away from providing film-based services such as lab processing as digital content has taken over the market.

New Executive Director for Beverly Hills Chamber

The Beverly Hills Chamber of Commerce announced Todd Johnson as its new executive director last week.

Johnson, general manager at Daily Grill parent company Grill Concepts, is a former president of the chamber’s board. He has also led and managed restaurants for more than 27 years.

Johnson will start his new role on Tuesday.

He replaces Alexander Stettinski, who left his chamber post to become vice president of operations and strategic planning for Visit West Hollywood.
