Shrinking Ridership for Metro

Boardings on mass transit lines operated by the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority declined more than 10 percent from 2006 to 2015, despite $9 billion in investments in new subway and light rail lines. According to the Los Angeles Times, Metro now has fewer boardings than it did three decades ago, when buses were the county’s only transit option.
