Gas Prices in L.A. Dip for Second Week

Local gas prices dipped for the second week in a row, according to the Energy Information Administration.


The average gallon of self-serve regular cost $2.579 in the Los Angeles area for the week ended April 25, down from $2.594 a week earlier, the Energy Information Administration said. Statewide, the average was $2.565, down from $2.584 the previous week.


Prices in the city and within California were up more than 4 cents per gallon from the year-earlier period.


Of the major cities in the U.S., Houston was selling the cheapest gas at $2.087 per gallon, and San Francisco the most expensive, at $2.694. Of the states, Minnesota sold the cheapest gas at $2.033 and California the most expensive.
