Physicians Formula Says CFO is Leaving

Physicians Formula Holdings Inc. said Friday that Chief Financial Officer Joseph Jaeger would be leaving the company at the end of the month for family reasons. The mass market cosmetics company has named a board member as interim CFO.

Named as interim CFO, effective May 29, was Jeff Berry, who has served on the board of the Azusa company since October 2007. Berry, who was treasurer at Del Monte Foods before leaving last year to become an advisor to private equity firms, will resign as a director while serving as CFO.

?oe has been a valuable member of the Physicians Formula management team for the last five years and we appreciate his service to the company,?Chief Executive Ingrid Jackel said in a statement. ?e welcome Jeff as the interim CFO given his proven strategic and financial skills.?p>Physicians Formula? products are sold primarily in drug stores. The company on Monday reported a $1.7 million loss in the first quarter, compared with $5 million profit a year ago. Net sales dropped 52 percent to $20.2 million, which the company blamed in part on the poor economy.

Before the announcement, Physicians Formula shares closed down 10 cents, or 7 percent, to $1.32 on the Nasdaq.
